You know when something is beautiful.
You know when an outfit looks good.
You know when another person has absolutely fucking nailed it!
Taste was never your problem.
And yet when the person getting dressed is you, all that certainty, confidence, and decisiveness becomes remarkably difficult to access.
You buy something you love. You don't wear it.
You find the thing that's finally going to “pull everything together.” It doesn't.
You put on an outfit that objectively looks fantastic. You feel… underwhelmed.
And eventually you're standing in front of another collection of perfectly good clothes wondering:
YOU DON'T NEED BETTER TASTE.
You already have it.
And you probably don't need another person prescribing what you should wear.
Because personal style isn't created by accumulating enough correct answers about clothes.
Another capsule wardrobe. Another Pinterest board. Another expert telling you what's flattering: Yawn.
Those things can give you information. But they cannot give you access to yourself.
And that's where I believe personal style begins.

Here’s the thing: YOUR WARDROBE IS ALREADY ANSWERING THAT QUESTION.
The coat you adored but decided was too much.
The expensive piece everyone compliments that you never reach for.
The five variations of the safe thing.
The thing you desperately wanted until you started wondering where the fuck you'd wear it.
None of that is random.
Your wardrobe is evidence.
It shows me where you’ve been making decisions — and where your childhood programming has been making them for you…
THIS IS WHERE I COME IN.
Inside In-Wardrobe Coaching, you'll point your laptop toward your closet and we'll start there.
To be clear: I'm not about to tell you which pants you have to let go of.
I want to know who chose them.
Show me what you own.
Tell me what you wear.
Show me what you don't.
Tell me why this one's practical.
Why that one's flattering.
Why this one isn't ‘you.’
Why this one is confusing.
Why that one is upsetting.
Why the other one just doesn’t work.
And I'll listen for what I've spent nearly a decade learning to hear:
The premise underneath the decision.
Your language.
Your choices.
Your body.
Your wardrobe.
It's all data.

Of course you bought that.
Of course you never wear it.
Of course the thing you actually want feels impossible.
You haven't been making random style mistakes.
You've been making completely logical decisions from programming that may have nothing to do with your current tastes and goals.
THEN: WE FIND OUT WHAT'S ACTUALLY YOURS.
Once we can distinguish programming from preference, we build.
I'll take you through a simple method to determine the language of your personal style using your current wardrobe as evidence:
Your personality.
Your existing clothes.
Your attractions.
Your aversions.
The pieces you keep returning to.
The things you've dismissed because they couldn't possibly be ‘you.’
AND THEN GETTING DRESSED GETS FUCKING FUN.
My clients start letting go of ‘nopes’ without the usual agony and overwhelm.
Joyfully wearing combinations they previously thought were impossible.
Comfortably buying pieces they'd once dismissed as “not me.”
And experiencing my personal favourite:
THE CLOTHING ZOOMIES.
That moment when the combination is so fucking right that your brain basically explodes open like a cracked safe. There you are.
Not “Technically, this looks good on me.” Not “Everyone else likes it.” But:
YOUR WARDROBE SHOULD GIVE MORE THAN IT TAKES.
You get dressed every single day, which means your wardrobe gets an extraordinary number of opportunities to reinforce something about you that you’ve probably been trying to install in therapy(!)
I matter.
My feelings are valid.
I get what I need.
My opinion counts.
My desires are important
I'm allowed to be seen like this.
Conversely, when your clothes don't work for you, you have to compensate.
With time.
Money.
Attention.
Energy.
Another purchase.
Another outfit change.
Another morning manufacturing confidence in spite of what you're wearing.
That's the real cost.
Not one bad purchase.
The repetition.
Another thing that's supposed to tie everything together.
Another disappointment.
Another resale.
Another wardrobe overhaul.
Another year of having excellent taste everywhere except where you most want to experience it: On yourself.
You can afford another coat.
But you have too much taste to spend another five years wondering why you can't seem to make it yours.
Two private hours with me via Zoom, inside your current closet.
Together we'll identify the programming embedded in your clothing decisions, separate preference from justification, and establish the language of your personal style.
You'll leave knowing why you bought what you bought, what actually belongs, what can go, what you've been unnecessarily dismissing, and how to make future style decisions without continually outsourcing or needing to justify the final vote.
This isn't me telling you what to wear.
It's two hours devoted to making sure the next person dressing you...is actually you.
"During our In-Wardrobe Coaching session Sarah made connections between my closet and deepest childhood woundings that both made so much sense and knocked me flat on my ass. For many years, my relationship to clothes and fashion has been a fraught one due to a childhood and early adulthood history of disordered eating, body shaming and narcissistic parenting. Though I have always been perceived as fashionable by my peers and succeed in dressing myself 'well', my closet was mostly full of clothes that were objectively beautiful, but that I just actually didn't like all that much, and I could not for the life of me figure out why!
Enter Sarah: Her perceptiveness and skill in lasering in on this tension through tracking minute changes in my body language and voice revealed the childhood programming still being reflected in my clothing choices.
It was both tragic and freeing to uncover just how much the after effects of shame, fear and straight up bullying were still so clearly alive in my closet.
Our session has coincided with and catalyzed many internal and external changes in my life, and I can confidently say that Sarah's astuteness in identifying the programming of 'good enough' that has been replicating itself in my wardrobe has truly changed my life. Putting together outfit combinations that I like and that feel like 'me' is easier than ever, and this has spilled over into other aspects of my life in an increased ability to trust in myself and my own preferences.
Sarah's expert eye and guidance has helped me remember I do actually know what I like and want, and damn if that isn't a priceless gift.
Sarah is also deeply funny, passionate and sharp as a fucking machete so trust that she will also make you laugh while (gently) reading you and your closet for filth.
I truly couldn't recommend this offering more and will be returning to it as a grounding resource for years to come.
"Before working with Sarah, getting dressed was something I genuinely dreaded. Even the thought of trying to put together an outfit would stress me out, because it meant standing in front of the mirror getting increasingly frustrated, trying to figure out if something objectively "looked good" by mentally measuring against style rules I wasn't even sure I understood. Most days I just gave up and wore the exact same uniform: baggy sweater and leggings at home, jeans and a t-shirt in public. My closet was full of fun, colorful, dramatic pieces that I could never bring myself to wear - even some pieces that I bought because I loved them so much, but never even had the confidence to try on even once.
Then I had a wardrobe coaching session with Sarah. She identified the exact programming and beliefs that were getting in my way, and together we worked through them. There were a few major breakthroughs in that part alone, which helped me get ready to find my own style. And THAT happened when Sarah identified the 3 words that I could use as a guideline when putting together outfits. I've attempted to do this on my own before with minimal luck, but Sarah's superpower is that she can look beyond the aesthetics of the clothes I liked to identify the feelings beneath them, and so the style words she picked out were ones I never could have found myself - but they were SO spot on. Just as an experiment I used her guidelines to order a few unique and unusual pieces that caught my eye but that I would never have had the courage to order before, and it turns out I'm absolutely obsessed with them (the first Sarah-inspired order I made had me twirling around the house all day in glee).
What those words unlocked in practice has been kind of unbelievable. For my birthday I pulled out a going-out top I'd had for ages but never knew how to wear, one of those "aspirational" pieces that I just admired in the closet. I put it on, cycled through four or five bottoms in the span of a few minutes, and found a combination I loved - quickly, and without getting frustrated. The whole thing was emotionally neutral until I landed on the right outfit, at which point it felt AMAZING. Same thing with a plaid miniskirt I'd bought online because I loved the vibe, and then left in my closet because it felt too intimidating: I spotted it one morning, put it on, tried on a few tops until one clicked, and did a little shimmy dance in front of the mirror because it looked and felt so good. This is not something I have ever done before in my life.
Cleaning out my closet is also suddenly... easy? I used to agonize over every single piece because I couldn't quite tell whether I liked it or not. Now it's simple: why would I ever choose to wear something that feels boring and bleh (even if it's functional) when I have pieces I'm absolutely obsessed with? And I've genuinely caught myself looking forward to getting dressed in the morning. (Yes, Looking FORWARD to it!) It feels like an opportunity to play and be creative and just have fun, which are not words I ever thought I'd associate with fashion. I'm getting compliments from people I know and from strangers, and I feel amazing.
If you had asked me a few months ago I would have been adamant that I do not experience enclothed cognition. But it turned out that it (for a number of reasons that Sarah identified) it just felt too emotionally risky to try to express myself that way. Now that I can, getting dressed is an extra source of joy in my day, every single day. I cannot express the difference this has made to my confidence, and, not to overstate this, but to my happiness levels. I'm so, so, so incredibly thankful to Sarah for helping me unlock this - it's been so much fun!
"Growing up with a single mum and in a family that loved a good bargain hunt, I always found myself shopping the sales rack rather than buying pieces that actually suited my style and body. I had this belief that you could only wear ‘good’ or ‘going out’ clothes once because people would notice if you repeated an outfit… and no one wants to wear the same thing twice, right? So, shopping sales always felt justified and somehow less wasteful.
My session with Sarah completely unravelled that mindset… in the best possible way, and honestly in a way my soul needed.
I realised I had been spending so much money on ‘bargain’ clothes simply because I could justify the sale price, not because I truly loved them or felt good in them. Since working with Sarah, I’ve realised I’m no longer the woman who needs to shop from clearance racks just because it feels safe. I don’t need to justify every dollar I spend, and I can buy pieces that genuinely suit who I am now.
Before, I would walk into my wardrobe and automatically grab gym clothes or something that kept me small and hidden. Usually a cheap throw-on dress because it was “comfortable.” Now, I’ve started building a wardrobe around my actual style words and the woman I’ve become. Elevated, feminine, natural and confident.
For the first time, I get excited pulling pieces out of my wardrobe and styling them together. I genuinely feel good when I walk out the door. I’ve even started using AI to help narrow down styling choices when I’m unsure, which has been such a fun part of the process.
And the biggest shift? I wore the same shirt twice last weekend because I loved it that much. I would NEVER have done that before. I styled it differently with new accessories and different pants for different events and times of the day, and I actually enjoyed thinking about what to pack and where I’d wear it.
I honestly feel like a whole new person in my wardrobe now. And for the first time, clearing out old pieces feels exciting because I know they’re making room for the elevated pieces that truly belong there.
